Thank you for the life of John Lewis, a Truth-teller. By many who were in power in the U.S. in 1965, he was seen as an agitator, a trouble-maker, an extremist. We know the only thing that made him so was his unyielding demand that African-Americans be afforded rights equal to Caucasians. Even as a Congressional Representative, he never tired of asking that people in power demonstrate that they see the humanity of Black people. It has been amazing to see, from afar, his masterful clarity of purpose, humility, and compassion. A true Statesman. I am grateful to his family for sharing him with the world.
